"The Window To My Soul"

One thing I've liked most about being home is going back to work.

It may sound strange, but I adore my job. I love the older, sophisticated clientele, I love the quirky little pieces I think are sometimes bought just for me and I love the responsibility and admiration I receive daily.

Don't get me wrong I'd have loved a few more lay-ins this winter, but it’s definitely been worth it.

First of all, let me explain, my job isn’t as glamorous as Selfridges, the average age of the customer is about triple that of Urban Outfitters, our best selling pieces are straight out of M&S classic and yes we are 'officially' an end of line retailer, originally named; THE STORE.

But it's not just about seconds from shoddy high street stores. We've previously bought out the stock of other boutiques included J Brand and Sass & Bide jeans, knocking roughly £100 off the R.R.P we host Zandra Rhodes in the rails between Monsoon, Oasis, Country Casuals and the odd one off using my two boss' retail connections (both of whom have so much retail experience I don’t think I could absorb it all!)

The shop itself is more boutique than high street, we only buy flagship store stock, so we carry things that many of the local branches of say, Zara, haven’t seen, and  probably wont.

True we don't have Kate Moss popping in, but Vanessa Paradis has visited - although I was dangerously close to chucking her out for stealing the love of my life from me - she was lovely, and Mr Depp and she have recently bought a holiday home in the area, so hopefully I might see her again. (I know what your thinking, why did I move away right?) We also had a flying visit from Bill Nighy, Literally in, and out looking for his wife/girlfriend, I don't know for sure and didn’t feel it polite to ask.

The last outfit put together during my stint back in The Store, one of far too many.

A quirky Gaga esque miniature top hat, which I've been debating buying since my return!

A small selection of our antique/linen collection

Our window displays are inspired by the tagline "the window to my soul" it always seems to spark some creativity!

Anyway, The Store is an amazing place to earn a living, so these are a few photos to show you that no matter where I end up in years to come, my heart will always be here.
